PEAKS

Attended another one day course today, it centred on a psychometric profile, called PEAKS, giving reflections or traits of a person’s ability/potential to peak perform in personal and professional pursuits.Its an interesting one to know about :)

The acronym PEAKS stands for 5 personality factors :

(P) PURPOSE (describes a person’s focus and goal orientation)
-Compelling : task-oriented,single-minded resolve
-Intentional: focused but can move with the flow
-Spontaneous: adaptable, flexible, care-free outlook

(E) ENERGY (defines how people relate to others)
-Dynamic: lively, interactive, always on the move
-Ready : moderate pace,dynamic but can be reserved
-Latent : reserved,pensive,independent

(A) AFFIRMATION (measures how one shows praise & support to pple)
-Encouraging: empathetic,team player,gives praise
-Approving : encouraging but will question/clarify
-Questioning: challengers,raise issues,critical

(K) KNOWLEDGE (expresses one's penchant to innovate and create)
-Visionary: creative,broad intellectual curiosity
-Integrative: likes controversies but pragmatic
-Structured : practical,conservative,structured

(S) SUSTAINABILITY (measure one's propensity to handle stress)
-Robust : cool facing crisis, calm & composed
-Steady : quite steady under stress,can be vulnerable
-Volatile: reacts quickly & intensely to stress

FACETS IN PURPOSE :
1. preparedness (confidence level,competency)
2. organisation (can work with mess or orderly?)
3. dutifulness (casual or responsible?)
4. success driven (values success or its not critical?)
5. focus (flexible,distractible or disciplined?)

FACETS IN ENERGY :
1. interactivity (private or interactive?)
2. assertiveness (prefers silent or speaks up?)
3. vibrance (leisurely pace,active or vigorous?)
4. thrill seeking (likes thrills or no need for it?)
5. exuberance (pessimistic or optimistic?)

FACETS IN AFFIRMATION
1. trust (value self preservation or trusting?)
2. forthrightness (guarded,tactful or blunt?)
3. other centredness (avoid involvements or helpful?)
4. co-operation (competitive,negotiates or gives in?)
